When performing on their own, Dreamers’ Circus were always fascinating, Busk playing accordion as much as the Steinway, Rune Tonsgaard Sorenson the violin soloist of the night, and cittern-player Ale Carr, who played with Kuusisto and the SCO in a similar excursion on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons two years ago, doubling on fiddle himself.
As the show begins and the three major components, Pekka Kuusisto, Dreamers’ Circus and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, take their place, Kuusisto jokes about a rushed rehearsal time and remarks “Chances are it is going to work quite well”… A prediction that is certainly realised by the end of the work. For the third time, Dreamers’ Circus opens a mentoring programme in collaboration with TEMPI, offering two Danish bands or solo artists within the roots genres the opportunity to take part in a focused sparring process in 2026. The programme includes three in-depth sessions with members of Dreamers’ Circus, tailored to each project’s artistic and professional goals.
In 2025 we’re releasing four new singles. Two are already out: Vallivan (a collaboration with Floating Sofa Quartet) and Mandø, featuring traditional tunes from the Danish island of the same name. Third single, And The Devil Knows What, is released on September 19th 2025.
